Dave Murtha is a nearly lifelong resident of the East Bay who stumbled into land surveying at the recommendation of a high school friend who became a civil engineer. Dave earned a BS in Surveying Engineering from Fresno State in 1994 and began growing his surveying career in the SF Bay Area within a few years of graduating. Dave became a licensed land surveyor in 2001 and was hired by the Port of Oakland in 2005 where he currently serves as the Port Land Surveyor.
